Proud to be an Indian! - Independence Day Celebrations @ THS
August 15th dawned and India rose in unison to celebrate the 71st Indian Independence Day, THS came together to say that our beloved country is the cradle of Human Race, the birth place of Speech, the Mother of History, the Grandmother of Legend and the Great-Grandmother of Tradition. We believe that our most valuable and the most artistic materials in the history of Man lie only in India. The celebrations began with the Flag hoisting by our Principal Mrs. Saira Thomas who spoke a few words on the freedom we enjoy today, on the martyrs who laid down their lives for our Independence, for the soldiers who guard us day and night and last but not the least –How our country is unique in every way and we as citizens need to do our bit to make it a better place …..a legacy to live and a legacy to die for. There were competitions held in Tableau, Song Enactment and Rangoli. It must be mentioned that our Art and Craft teacher-Mr. Sajeesh did an exemplary job in decorating the stage, bringing out his creativity to mark the significance of the day. The songs chosen stirred emotions and the characters in each tableau spoke volumes of the great Icons we had and have in our country. The children executed each act with perfection and precision. Congratulations to all the students and staff members who did a brilliant job in executing the roles defined to them. VANDE MATARAM!!
